Can I acknowledge an incident from the phone?

Asked by Andrei PopescuJun 28, 2026
When I get paged at night I would rather not open a laptop just to acknowledge. Can I acknowledge and resolve incidents directly from the mobile app, or is it read only?

Hi Andrei, you can act on incidents from the app, it is not read only. Open the incident and you can move it through its statuses and add a note. A few things worth knowing so the night flow works well for you: 1. Acknowledging pauses the escalation chain. That is the point of acknowledging at 3am, it stops the phone ringing again while you get to your laptop. 2. Status changes follow a fixed order. From open you can go to acknowledged, investigating or resolved. From acknowledged you cannot go back to open, so acknowledge only when you are actually taking it. 3. Add a short note when you change status. It is stored on the incident timeline and the person doing the morning handover will thank you for it. 4. If the underlying monitor or heartbeat recovers on its own, the incident is resolved automatically, so you may find it already handled by the time you look. One caveat for planning your night routine: acknowledging stops the escalation but does not stop the underlying problem, and a resolved incident that fails again produces a brand new incident and a brand new page.

That covers exactly what I needed. Adding notes from the phone is a good habit, I will start doing that.
