Signing in to the mobile app with Google
Asked by Meera KrishnanMay 21, 2026
Our company uses Google accounts for everything and I signed up on the web with Google. On the phone the app is asking me for a password, which I never set. How do I get in?

Hi Meera, you should not need to invent a password. The app supports signing in with Google the same way the web does, so use the Google option on the sign-in screen rather than the email and password fields. It will match you to the same account you created on the web, so all your organizations and settings come with you.
If the Google option is not visible, update the app to the latest version and try again.
Two things that are useful to know for accounts created through Google:
Because you never set a password, the email and password form will never work for you. If you would prefer to have a password as well, use the forgot password flow with your Google email address and set one. After that both methods work for the same account.
And if you ever do reset your password, note that resetting revokes all existing sessions, so you will be signed out of the mobile app and the web and will need to sign in again. Worth doing at a calm moment rather than during an incident.

The Google button was there after updating. Also set a password as a backup, thanks for the tip.
